SAAM restaurant works closely with Margot Janse who, together with the kitchen team led by Jasper Hermans, fuses both cuisines. Experience this during your visit by starting your meal off with a selection of bites and an aperitif.
Next to that, we offer our Spyskaart, our five-course culinary experience (set menu) and á la carte geregte. Our sommeliers on hand to advise with an exceptional wine pairing or bottle, including non-alcoholic options.
We are open for lunch from Wednesday till Saturday and for dinner from Tuesday till Saturday.
SAAM restaurant is a South African inspired restaurant located on the famous Amstelzijde strip. The restaurant overlooks the Amstel River, one of the most beautiful spots surrounding Amsterdam and sits at the end of an historic restaurant strip next to Brasserie Paardeburg. SAAM restaurant opened its doors on the 15th of November 2022 on the Amstelzijde 59 in Amstelveen.
The restaurant offers seating to 42 guests on the ground floor, including
a Chef’s Table up to 10 guests. The upstairs SAAM bar can seat another 20 guests for those who enjoy wining and dining. And even private dining, read more below.
When the sun’s out we do have our lovely terrace looking out the Amstel River. You can come by boat and moor at our jetty.

Looking for a restaurant for your group or event? We have a private dining room for up to 22 people; our SAAM bar. The bar is completely exclusive, where you can host a business meeting, celebrate a birthday or launch your new product.
The U-shaped bar over looks the beautiful Amstel River. Due to it’s U-shape you have the possibility to be in contact with all your guests. We can serve our bar bites, Spyskaart and 5-course set menu, here.

The little ones are more than welcome at SAAM Restaurant. Because we do not have a menu for children, we recommend that you inform us in advance that there will be children joining you when making your reservation. We can then ensure that they have their own special SAAM experience too.

Although we are a big fan of pets, we respect the comfort of all our guests. Therefore, pets are unfortunately not allowed at SAAM.
